A Woman of Action
Harriet Tubman is renowned for her courageous acts of risking her life to return to Maryland, where she had escaped from slavery, in order to rescue others. During the Civil War, she served as a scout, spy, and nurse, dedicating her life to serving others. She was truly a woman of action.
